Fellowship in Fiji

24-27 MARCH 2016

Over 170 Fijian professionals will be attending our Public Information Day on Thursday 24th March.

Join us in 'Fellowship in Fiji' for the THE INAUGURAL AUSTRALASIAN CONVENTION of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Featuring meetings and fellowship with other alcoholics from around the country & around the world.

At the Australian General Service Conference in 2013 it was decided that, as there were no bids to host the National Convention in 2016, we would take the opportunity to hold the 2016 Convention in a country within the Asia/Oceania zone, where there is little or no AA.

It was considered that this would assist us as part of our responsibility to carry the message to developing countries and to encourage the development of service structures.

It was also agreed that this would happen on a five-year rotational basis.

A venue selection committee was formed and several countries were considered.

The country chosen was FIJI!

There were several reasons for the committee’s choice:

  • There had been an expressed need for AA assistance.
  •  There is an AA presence in Fiji.
  • AA has already provided assistance to Fiji by placing notices in a local newspaper and providing a mobile phone as a helpline.
  • Our visit is welcomed and supported by local professionals and organisations.

Join us for fun, sun, serenity and spirituality

Please support this very important ‘carry the message’ Convention.

This year we will be doing things a bit differently:

All registrations will be handled in Australia
We will not be taking registrations in Fiji
The Convention will run from
Thursday 24th – Sunday 27th
March 2016.

 Highlights of the Convention

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism

The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership. We are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution. Does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. Copyright © A.A. Grapevine, Inc

I Am Responsible

When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help,
I want the hand of A.A. always to be there.
And for that: I am responsible.

A Declaration of Unity

This we owe to A.A.’s future:
To place our common welfare first;
To keep our fellowship united.
For on A.A. unity depend our lives,
And the lives of those to come.
